Migrating from Typefully to Extudio
A guide for Typefully writers: where everything lives, what changes, and how to move your writing over.
Overview
Typefully and Extudio both start from the same idea: writing for X deserves a better editor than X's own composer. Both draft tweets and threads, preview them, and schedule them into a queue.
The difference is where the AI starts. Extudio is built around a brand kit: your voice, content pillars, glossary and messaging. Every draft, reply, article and image prompt reads from it, so the output sounds like you before you edit it. Typefully also publishes to other networks; Extudio is for X only.
Where things live
The same jobs, under different names. What you used in Typefully, and where to find it in Extudio.
| In Typefully | In Extudio |
|---|---|
| Drafts | Queue → DraftsEvery post starts as a draft in the queue. |
| Thread writing | ComposeWrite a tweet or a 5–8 tweet thread from a topic or a rough idea. |
| Queue and scheduled posts | Queue and Calendar |
| Posting schedule | Settings → Posting slots |
| AI writing and rewrites | Compose and ChatBoth read your brand kit. |
| Post preview | PreviewShows the post the way X renders it. |
Key differences
- A brand kit drives every draft. Set your voice, pillars and glossary once and Compose, Reply, Articles, Chat and Imagine all use them.
- AI images are built in. Imagine generates illustrations and covers you attach to a post in one click.
- A long-form article writer: pick the audience, angle and depth, get a structured draft to copy or download as Markdown.
- AI is included in the paid plans. No API keys, no separate AI add-on.
- X only. Every screen is designed around how X shows posts, threads and articles.
What Extudio doesn't do
Worth knowing before you switch. If one of these is the reason you use Typefully, keep it for that.
- Posting to LinkedIn, Threads, Bluesky or Mastodon.
- Post analytics.
- Automatic follow-up posts and retweets based on engagement.
- Importing your Typefully drafts. Copy the ones you want to keep into Compose.
Moving over, step by step
- Create your account. Sign up with Google, X or your email. The Free plan has no time limit and needs no card.
- Set up your brand. Give the brand wizard your website and it drafts your positioning, voice and pillars (paid plans), or fill in your name, story and voice by hand. Every draft reads from it from then on.
- Bring over the drafts you want to keep. Paste them into Compose; a long draft splits into a thread at 280 characters with one click. Scheduled posts in Typefully keep running there until you cancel them, so move them before you switch the schedule off.
- Connect X. Connect your account through X's official sign-in (Creator and Pro). We never see your password, and you can disconnect from settings.
- Set your posting slots. In settings, add the days and times you want to post. Scheduled posts fill those slots and publish from our servers, browser closed.
Pricing
Extudio has a free plan with no time limit and no card, and two paid plans. AI is included in the paid plans; there are no API keys to bring.
- Free, $0: the tweet, thread and article editor, X-accurate preview, drafts queue and brand kit; posts go out through X’s own composer.
- Creator, $19/month: 300 AI drafts, 50 images, up to 2 X accounts and scheduled auto-posting.
- Pro, $49/month: 1,500 AI drafts, 250 images, up to 5 X accounts and scheduled auto-posting.
Details about Typefully reflect its public website as of November 2026 and may have changed since. Typefully is a trademark of its owner; Extudio isn’t affiliated with it.
