Migrate

Migrating from Buffer to Extudio

For people who use Buffer mostly for X and want a studio built for it.

Overview

Buffer schedules to many social networks from one queue. If most of your posting goes to X, a tool built only for X can do more with it.

Extudio keeps the queue-and-slots model you know from Buffer, and adds the writing side: an AI that writes in your brand's voice, threads, replies, long-form articles, images, and a preview that shows the post the way X does.

Where things live

The same jobs, under different names. What you used in Buffer, and where to find it in Extudio.

Key differences

  • Built only for X: threads, replies and long-form articles are first-class, not a single text box.
  • A brand kit drives every draft, so the AI writes in your voice instead of a generic one.
  • AI images are built in.
  • Pricing doesn't count channels; plans differ by AI drafts, images and connected X accounts.

What Extudio doesn't do

Worth knowing before you switch. If one of these is the reason you use Buffer, keep it for that.

  • Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, TikTok and the other networks Buffer supports.
  • An engagement inbox for comments.
  • Post analytics.
  • Importing your Buffer queue. Copy the X posts you want into Compose.

Moving over, step by step

  1. Create your account. Sign up with Google, X or your email. The Free plan has no time limit and needs no card.
  2. Set up your brand. Give the brand wizard your website and it drafts your positioning, voice and pillars (paid plans), or fill in your name, story and voice by hand. Every draft reads from it from then on.
  3. Copy your X posting schedule. Add your Buffer times for X as posting slots in settings.
  4. Move your queued X posts. Paste them into Compose and schedule them, then remove X from Buffer's queue so nothing posts twice. Other networks can stay in Buffer.
  5. Connect X. Connect your account through X's official sign-in (Creator and Pro). We never see your password, and you can disconnect from settings.

Pricing

Extudio has a free plan with no time limit and no card, and two paid plans. AI is included in the paid plans; there are no API keys to bring.

  • Free, $0: the tweet, thread and article editor, X-accurate preview, drafts queue and brand kit; posts go out through X’s own composer.
  • Creator, $19/month: 300 AI drafts, 50 images, up to 2 X accounts and scheduled auto-posting.
  • Pro, $49/month: 1,500 AI drafts, 250 images, up to 5 X accounts and scheduled auto-posting.

Details about Buffer reflect its public website as of November 2026 and may have changed since. Buffer is a trademark of its owner; Extudio isn’t affiliated with it.
