Migrate

Migrating from Hootsuite to Extudio

For people who use Hootsuite mainly to post on X and want a tool built around writing for it.

Overview

Hootsuite is a social media management suite for teams: publishing to many networks, an inbox for messages and comments, analytics and reporting, and tools for several people working on the same accounts.

Extudio does one part of that, for one network. It writes and schedules posts for X, with an AI that writes in your brand's voice, threads, replies, long-form articles, images, and a preview that shows the post the way X does. If you mostly need the publishing side for X, it's a smaller, more focused tool.

Where things live

The same jobs, under different names. What you used in Hootsuite, and where to find it in Extudio.

Key differences

  • Built only for X: threads, replies and long-form articles each have their own tool.
  • A brand kit drives every draft, so the AI writes in your voice instead of a generic one.
  • AI images are built in, attached to a post in one click.
  • AI is included in the paid plans. No API keys, no separate AI add-on.

What Extudio doesn't do

Worth knowing before you switch. If one of these is the reason you use Hootsuite, keep it for that.

  • Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook and the other networks Hootsuite supports.
  • An inbox for messages, mentions and comments.
  • Analytics and reports.
  • Team seats, roles and approval workflows. Each Extudio account is one login with one brand.
  • Importing your Hootsuite schedule. Copy the X posts you want into Compose.

Moving over, step by step

  1. Create your account. Sign up with Google, X or your email. The Free plan has no time limit and needs no card.
  2. Set up your brand. Give the brand wizard your website and it drafts your positioning, voice and pillars (paid plans), or fill in your name, story and voice by hand. Every draft reads from it from then on.
  3. Move your scheduled X posts. Paste the X posts still scheduled in Hootsuite into Compose and schedule them, then remove them from Hootsuite so nothing posts twice. Other networks can stay where they are.
  4. Connect X. Connect your account through X's official sign-in (Creator and Pro). We never see your password, and you can disconnect from settings.
  5. Set your posting slots. In settings, add the days and times you want to post. Scheduled posts fill those slots and publish from our servers, browser closed.

Pricing

Extudio has a free plan with no time limit and no card, and two paid plans. AI is included in the paid plans; there are no API keys to bring.

  • Free, $0: the tweet, thread and article editor, X-accurate preview, drafts queue and brand kit; posts go out through X’s own composer.
  • Creator, $19/month: 300 AI drafts, 50 images, up to 2 X accounts and scheduled auto-posting.
  • Pro, $49/month: 1,500 AI drafts, 250 images, up to 5 X accounts and scheduled auto-posting.

Details about Hootsuite reflect its public website as of November 2026 and may have changed since. Hootsuite is a trademark of its owner; Extudio isn’t affiliated with it.
