Migrating from Later to Extudio
For people who plan visually in Later but do most of their posting on X.
Overview
Later is known for visual planning: a calendar and media library built around images and video, strongest on Instagram and other visual networks.
Posting on X is mostly writing. Extudio is built for that: an AI that writes tweets, threads, replies and articles in your brand's voice, a queue that fills your posting slots, and AI images for the posts that need one.
Where things live
The same jobs, under different names. What you used in Later, and where to find it in Extudio.
| In Later | In Extudio |
|---|---|
| Content calendar | CalendarA weekly grid of your posting slots. |
| Scheduled posts | Queue |
| Posting times | Settings → Posting slots |
| Captions | ComposeHere the text is the post: tweets, threads and long-form posts. |
| Visual content | ImagineAI illustrations, banners and ad creatives in your brand details. |
Key differences
- Writing-first: drafts, rewrites, threads and replies are the core, not captions under an image.
- A brand kit drives every draft, so the AI writes in your voice.
- A preview that shows tweets and threads the way X renders them on desktop, tablet and mobile.
- AI images are generated in the app rather than uploaded from a library.
What Extudio doesn't do
Worth knowing before you switch. If one of these is the reason you use Later, keep it for that.
- Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest and the other networks Later supports.
- A visual grid planner and a media library for your photos and videos.
- A link-in-bio page.
- Analytics.
- Importing your Later calendar. Copy the X posts you want into Compose.
Moving over, step by step
- Create your account. Sign up with Google, X or your email. The Free plan has no time limit and needs no card.
- Set up your brand. Give the brand wizard your website and it drafts your positioning, voice and pillars (paid plans), or fill in your name, story and voice by hand. Every draft reads from it from then on.
- Move your scheduled X posts. Paste the X posts waiting in Later into Compose and schedule them, then remove them from Later so nothing posts twice.
- Connect X. Connect your account through X's official sign-in (Creator and Pro). We never see your password, and you can disconnect from settings.
- Set your posting slots. In settings, add the days and times you want to post. Scheduled posts fill those slots and publish from our servers, browser closed.
Pricing
Extudio has a free plan with no time limit and no card, and two paid plans. AI is included in the paid plans; there are no API keys to bring.
- Free, $0: the tweet, thread and article editor, X-accurate preview, drafts queue and brand kit; posts go out through X’s own composer.
- Creator, $19/month: 300 AI drafts, 50 images, up to 2 X accounts and scheduled auto-posting.
- Pro, $49/month: 1,500 AI drafts, 250 images, up to 5 X accounts and scheduled auto-posting.
Details about Later reflect its public website as of November 2026 and may have changed since. Later is a trademark of its owner; Extudio isn’t affiliated with it.
